4 books that have changed the way I look at work

- Richard and Mary Rouse, Preachers, Florilegia and Sermons: Studies on the ‘Manipulus florum’ of Thomas of Ireland, Toronto 1979 (Studies and Texts 47) - because the 13th century was the Golden Age of information science
- Merton College MS 266 - a 13th-century canon law miscellany, including some unique and innovative alphabetical indexes, and lots and lots of marginalia by an early owner showing how he used them
- Robert C. Binkley, Selected Papers - because the two-aught-aught-aughts are the new 1930s
- Getting Things Done - at least, I hope it will change the way I look at work, when I get around to finishing it

[...] Now that everyone and their dog has had a chance to post their “four things” list to their blogs, I've decided to answer Peter's call (tag) and join the party. The least I can do is respond to him, given that he kindly agreed to write an article on wikis for an upcoming publication I'm attempting to guest edit. [...]
