2345 - L. Jan. 13; ed:2/1 - Nine months ago the "Corps d' Afrique" was
formed at Brashear, La. It was dishonorable for white men to accept a
position in this army and Jeff Davis outlawed every such man. This army
has increased to 100,000 Negroes. (6)
